Reporting to the MRO Compliance Committee, the Performance and Risk Oversight Subcommittee (PROS) purpose is to provide practical guidance to the stakeholders, by developing tools and processes to assure that both operational and compliance obligations are met. To improve reliability by aligning with NERC’s initiative of Find-Fix-Track-Report (FFTR) process, as directed by the MRO Compliance Committee.
Key Objectives:
- Establish a forum for discussion and collaboration on the development of a Performance-based and Risk Controlled Framework for compliance with NERC Reliability Standards.
- To provide a reasonable level of reliability assurance to the Bulk Electric System (BES), by bridging the gap between operational and compliance risk controls.
- To promote a “Do-It-Yourself” culture of compliance accountability, where the stakeholder actively self-assesses, self-monitors, self-audits and self-enforces compliance.
- To assist the stakeholder in understanding the differences between their operational and compliance risk; via a comprehensive internal assessment of all applicable NERC Reliability Standards processes.
- To enhance reliability and provide the stakeholders with a tool to continuously monitor and assess all internal control activities; categorize risk, map roles and responsibilities; manage and track the status of compliance related activities; and supporting documentation and evidence.
